Gil Elvgren (1914–1980) was one of the most celebrated American pin-up artists of the twentieth century, widely regarded as a master of glamour illustration. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Elvgren became famous for his vibrant, playful pin-up girls created for Brown & Bigelow calendars, Coca-Cola advertising, and leading magazines. His distinctive style, combining realism, humour, and idealised beauty, defined the golden age of American pin-up art.
